Dubbo Solar One Project, which is being developed by Red Sky’s solar energy business Soleir, is the first high voltage utility scale solar photovoltaic (PV) project to receive an Offer to Connect from Essential Energy, the company said.

Soleir, a developer of utility scale PV solar power projects, was acquired by Red Sky in November 2012.

Under the agreement, the clean electricity generated at the 2.5MW solar project can be supplied to the grid. Also, it can sell electricity and large scale Renewable Energy Certificates.

In addition, Red Sky’s subsidiary Rhythm Section Investment Management has secured an Australian Financial Services Licence from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, for Dubbo Solar One Project.

New South Wales government-owned Essential Energy operates Australia’s largest electricity network, serving more than 800,000 households and businesses across 95% of the state.
