Ram Power has announced that it has received an initial equity distribution of approximately $1m from the San Jacinto-Tizate geothermal power project located in the northwest of Nicaragua, near the city of Leon, about 90km northwest of Managua.

The commercial operations of 36MW Phase I expansion of the San Jacinto-Tizate geothermal power project has generated around 157,000 MWh since January 2012.

Polaris Geothermal Latin America Operations vice president and COO Tono Rodriguez said, "The Phase I expansion continues to operate with better than average efficiency and availability, and we expect this trend to carry forward not only with Phase I, but also with the Phase II expansion scheduled for commercial operation in December 2012."
