The CNG storage tanks will be used in transportation applications.
Quantum CEO Brian Olson said the new orders are strong endorsement of Quantum’s technology and products for natural gas vehicles.
"Natural gas vehicles with Quantum’s light-weight storage systems help to lower ownership and operational costs, while truly benefiting from the historically low prices of this domestically produced, clean fuel," added Olson.
Composite CNG tanks are lightweight requiring lesser structures for mounting support, as well as increasing payload and passenger capacity.
Driving range of the vehicles increases as these the tanks provide maximum onboard storage capacity. These advantages help in installation, service and also differentiate it from the other competing metallic tanks.
