QOS Energy’s operation and management (O&S) software has been chosen by Neoen to track the performance of its 315MW Hornsdale wind project in Australia.
The French-based renewable project developer and owner, Neoen had deployed the QOS Energy-powered IEC compliant energy management SaaS dubbed as Qantum for the first two stages of the wind farm.
According to QOS Energy, it doesn’t require any additional hardware or system installation onsite to operate the software. This, it says enables a fast and an economical set-up for acquiring data related to the wind farm’s performance.
QOS Energy chief customer success officer Fabrice Wacogne said: “Our day-to-day challenge is to deliver best-in-class O&M analytics services for some of the largest renewable projects in the world. Project after project, Qantum continues to showcase its powerful analytic and O&M performance capabilities.”
Through a secure VPN connection, Qantum is expected to collect and evaluate data generated by each of the turbines for all measured values. The renewable energy tracking software works with all types of wind turbine, communication standard or database connection protocol, said QOS Energy.
Neoen Australia operations director Laurent Francisci said that the software is capable of monitoring the operational and financial performance of the wind farm as and when a turbine is installed onsite.
Comprising 96 3.2MW wind turbines manufactured by Siemens, the project is likely to be one of the largest wind farms in the country.
It will be constructed in three stages out of which two have already been completed.
Upon commissioning, the Hornsdale wind project is likely to be one of the largest wind farms in the country.
