Work on a 2400MW pumped storage power station has been completed in south China’s Guangdong Province. Construction of the station was divided into two phases. The first phase ended in March 1994 and the second phase began in September 1994.
The station, located 90km northeast of Guangzhou, the provincial capital, consists of 8x300MW generating units. Its operation will supply electricity to Guangdong and Hong Kong.
