The alliance will lead to the integration of Sierra Wireless AirLink intelligent gateways, with the Pulse Connector to transmit metering data over a cellular carrier network to help customers manage energy usage without having to run new data cabling or installing additional IT infrastructure.
After deployment, the energy management system will record and analyze the data, allowing end customers to monitor energy usage and efficiency remotely from anywhere in the world in real-time with the Pulse Web Application, a software as a service (SaaS) tool.
In addition, customers and Pulse Energy can use a suite of AirLink device management tools to configure and manage the Sierra Wireless AirLink devices, thereby minimizing field visits and enhancing overall system availability.
The 3G system, which has already been deployed at several customer sites, is claimed to reduce installation times and the total cost of ownership of the energy management system.
Sierra Wireless vice president of marketing and business development of AirLink, Justin Schmid said that working with Pulse Energy allows Sierra Wireless to promote an end-to-end energy management solution to their customers and partners.
