The company is planning to invest around $200m in the proposed wind power project.

Construction of the Peace Butte Wind Power Project will commence in early 2014 and will become operational by Q4 2014.

When completed, the wind project is expected to generate 360,000MWh of renewable electricity, enough to power around 50,000 average households annually.

The renewable energy generated at the wind power plant will be transmitted through an existing 138KV transmission line running directly through the property.

Renovalia Energy CEO Jaime Galobart said that the proposed wind power project will be the company’s 11th wind project.

"We are thrilled with the support offered to us by the local residents and landowners and appreciate the excellent work and cooperation during the permit approval process that we have received from Alberta authorities, among them the Alberta Electric Systems Operator (AESO), Cypress County and transmission facility owner Altalink," added Galobart.
