The project will provide about 50% of the total electricity consumed by the high schools. In addition, PsomasFMG will offer mentoring and internships for the school district students.

Both the parties also signed a power purchase agreement that calls for no capital expenditure from the district.

PsomasFMG president Paul Mikos said that the savings generated from this solar project can go directly back into classrooms, where it is needed most.

"The School Board and District staff did their homework before going forward with the project. They have shown excellent vision in championing this project," Mikos added.
