The company’s existing fleet will be replaced by 200 Roush propane-powered shuttle vans within the next 24 months.
The company said that propane burns cleaner than gasoline or diesel and emits approximately 20% less nitrogen oxide, 60% less carbon monoxide and generates 24% fewer greenhouse gas emissions, and fewer particulate emissions when compared to gasoline.
Moreover, with 90% of the propane used currently, being generated from domestic sources of production, it is expected to lower the nation’s dependence on foreign oil.
A single shuttle van consumes more than 7,500 gallons of gas annually, a propane-powered vehicle fleet is thus expected to help Prime Time Shuttle save more than 1.5 million gallons of gasoline each year.
