UK-based provider of compressed air solutions, Airpac, has secured a deal with Calder Pressure Systems that will enable the company to add VHP and UHP jetting equipment to its existing compressed air fleet. These are viewed as an alternative method of surface preparation.

Divisional director of Airpac, Chris Wootton, commented that the decision to invest in water jetting equipment is a result of the expected decline in traditional compressed air shot blasting methods. Requirements for a cleaner, more environmentally friendly approach to surface preparation are set to increase. The Calder units will be used in a number of applications including the marine, construction and civil engineering markets.
