William Hayworth, the company’s president and COO since June 2004, will become CEO of the company. Mr Hayworth has over 29 years of experience in oil and gas operations. From 2002 to 2004, he was a consultant to various energy companies acting as project manager and evaluation specialist for coal-bed methane pilot projects in Kansas, Wyoming, western Colorado and Utah in the US.
He was also vice president of operations for Intoil, in Denver, Colorado, and the engineering and operations manager for Patrick Petroleum in Houston, Texas and Jackson, Michigan.
Mr Hayworth has also spent 12 years with Phillips Petroleum, where he held various reservoir and process engineering positions in the UK, Norway, Texas and Oklahoma.
James Schadt, a member of the board of directors since October 2005, will become acting chairman of PRB Energy. Mr Schadt retired as chairman and CEO of the Reader’s Digest Association in 1997 and has since been involved in various commercial activities, including being the acting CEO of software firm Mercator.
