Poyry has bagged a contract from the Swiss Kernkraftwerk Leibstadt to improve its current integrated Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA), the scope of which includes full power plant operation, low power and shutdown plant operating states.

The total value of the two-phase contract amounts to EUR1.5m.

The main aim is to modify the existing PSA by making it an integrated PSA that conforms to the recently updated Swiss Licensing Authority guidelines.

Poyry has supported Kernkrafwerk Leibstadt with PSA studies for over 20 years from development of the initial PSA through support for power upgrade to the current project.

Poyry said that this assignment underlines its position as a provider of availability, reliability and maintainability, PSA, safety and risk consultancy services to the nuclear and other industries.
