The City of Manassas, in Virginia, has announced itself as the first city in the US with full-scale deployment of powerline communications (PLC) technology with then use of powerline broadband for internet access.
Chantilly-based Communication Technologies (COMTek) owns and operates the Manassas PLC network and is now developing nine similar projects with utilities and other partners around the US.
