India’s largest utility would invest nearly INR962.7m ($17.67m) for ‘Northern Region System Strengthening Scheme – XXVII’, which is scheduled to be completed within 20 months from the date of investment approval, reports Press Trust of India.
Another project called ‘Augmentation of Transformers in Northern Region – Part-A’ calls for investment to the tune of INR1.56bn ($28.64m). The project will be finished in 22 months from the date of board’s approval.
The PowerGrid board had approved these two investments during its meeting held on 6 December 2012.
As on 30 November 2012, PowerGrid operated about 96.303km of power transmission lines in the country.
