Power Integrations, Inc. (Power Integrations), a supplier of high-voltage analog integrated circuits, has appointed William L. George to its board of directors. George has 40-years of experience in semiconductor industry. He directed the worldwide operations of ON Semiconductor Corporation (ON Semiconductor) from its founding in 1999 until June 2007. From 2007 through his retirement in 2008, he directed the startup of ON Semiconductor's foundry services business.

Before the spin-off of ON Semiconductor from Motorola, Inc. (Motorola), George served in various operations and the engineering roles in three decades at Motorola, most recently as the corporate vice president and director of manufacturing for company’s semiconductor components group.

We are delighted that Bill George is joining our board of directors, stated Balu Balakrishnan, president and chief executive officer of Power Integrations. Bill’s wealth of technical and operational expertise will be enormously valuable to us as we continue to execute our growth strategy.

George currently serves on boards of Silicon Image, Inc. and Ramtron International Corporation. He is also a member of Sandia National Laboratories Science advisory board and the manufacturing advisory board of Cypress Semiconductor Corporation. He received a B.S. degree in metallurgical engineering from University of Oklahoma and a Ph.D. in materials science from the Purdue University.
