InterAksyon cited PNOC-RC as saying in a statement that the company is looking for potential partner for any of five hydropower plants packaged in three separate projects.
The projects include Nalatang in Kabayan, Benguet; Dulangan in Baco, Oriental Mindoro; and Pasil B and C in Lubuagan, and Saltan B in Balbalan, all in Kalinga.
The Nalatang project has an installed capacity of 44MW while the Dulangan has 8.25MW; Pasil B 20MW, Pasil C 16MW and Saltan B 24MW.
Recently, PNOC-RC business development manager Pamela Cea-Borlaza was quoted by reporters as saying that the five small hydro projects are other than the three projects it will bid out next month.
"Out na yung 3 bids for the first 3 projects in Negros Oriental. These are small hydro projects, 22 MW yung total pina-bid out. We have yet to see if the private sector is really interested. July 9 yung bidding," Cea-Borlaza added.
"These are projects primarily in partnership with the private sector. We want to enter into partnerships na joint venture."
BusinessWorld Online recently cited PNOC-RC official as saying that the company aims to develop power with a combined capacity of more than 300MW projects by 2018.
