The programs include equipment rebates of up to $300 for residential customers and up to $250 for commercial customers per qualifying appliance for the purchase of high-efficiency natural gas equipment.
It further includes weatherization assistance of up to $3,500 for low-income residential customers of Piedmont Natural Gas.
Piedmont plans to engage customers in an education program through online communications, mailings and advertisements that promote energy education and energy efficiency.
Ken Valentine, vice president of business development and carbon management strategies at PNG, said: “We’ve been pleased with the response to our programs in North Carolina, so we’re excited to partner with our customers in South Carolina to promote energy efficiency.
“Through this program, our customers are learning that increasing their energy efficiency can be as simple as changing small behaviors or by taking advantage of a rebate to replace older, less efficient equipment with high-efficiency natural gas equipment.”
