US-based Plains All American Pipeline (PAA) has announced its plans to extend the Mississippian Lime crude oil pipeline by 88.5km.

PAA said the pipeline extension project is aimed at serving the growing production in the Mississippian Lime resource play of western Oklahoma and southwest Kansas, US.

The new extended Mississippian Lime pipeline is expected to carry 75,000 barrels per day of crude oil from Coldwater in Comanche County, Kansas to Byron in Alfalfa County, Oklahoma.

Through the pipeline crude oil will be flowed from Byron to PAA’s terminal in Cushing, Oklahoma.

PAA has secured long-term commitment from an area producer to support the extension of the Mississippian Lime pipeline.

The extension of the crude oil pipeline is expected to begin service in the final quarter of 2013.
