Under the agreement, Pivotal LNG will provide Encana with nearly 100,000 gallons of liquefied natural gas per day for an initial five-year period.

Encana intends to offer liquefied natural gas to service providers operating fleet trucks in the Haynesville area of Louisiana.

Encana will dispense the liquefied natural gas through mobile and permanent public fueling stations.

AGL Resources chairman, president and CEO John Somerhalder II said the supply agreement follows the company’s intention to serve the needs of an emerging market around the use of natural gas as a transportation fuel.

Encana Corp executive vice-president and US division senior vice-president Eric Marsh said the agreement provides Encana Natural Gas with a secure, long-term supply source of liquefied natural gas for its new liquefied natural gas fueling stations.

Encana is a subsidiary of Encana Corp, a natural gas producer in North America.
