The new Luxeon Rebel has been designed to deliver more than 300 lumens at 1000mA and efficacy of 100 lumens per watt. The new product can offer efficacy in excess of 125 lumens per watt by lowering the current.

Luxeon Rebel ES has been developed for outdoor applications, including streets, roadways, tunnels, and high- and low-bay lighting, with correlated color temperatures (CCTs) centered at 4100K and 5650K.

The system, which requires forward voltage of 2.85V-3.10V, can be optimized for light output, thereby reducing the number of emitters required and potentially reducing upfront costs. It can be tailored for variable operation based on the amount of light required at a particular time of day, or at a particular location, lowering operating expenses through energy savings.

Steve Barlow, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Philips Lumileds, said: “We continue to listen to our customers and broaden our Luxeon portfolio in order to help them achieve their lighting solution objectives.

“For our customers, system efficiency and costs are significant drivers of LED solution adoption. Luxeon Rebel ES directly addresses these factors and supports our customers’ key objectives.”
