Arizona-based diversified energy firm PetroSun has appointed Dr John Templin II as the executive vice president of oil and gas exploration and development for domestic and international operations.

Dr Templin will be based in the company’s regional office located in Shreveport, Louisiana.

After beginning his career with TL James in 1976, Dr Templin was promoted to chief geologist and manager of their Shreveport district office. He then served as president and director of international operations, and then as CEO and chairman of Petro Sources International for over 16 years.

He is a petroleum geologist with background and experience in the US Gulf Coast, Arizona and Australia.

Gordon LeBlanc, CEO of PetroSun, said: Dr John Templin II brings to PetroSun a diversified background in domestic and international oil and gas exploration and development. The oil and gas leases currently held by the company in Arizona, New Mexico and Australia will form the foundation of Dr Templin’s exploration program in 2008.
