Petronet LNG's Kochi terminal has received first LNG cargo from Rasgas in Qatar.

The container, MV Will Energy, is carrying about 56,000tn of LNG and has five storage tanks.

The carrier is expected to be unloaded in about five days.

Petronet LNG intends to import two cargoes of LNG in 2013, while in 2014 it is expected to operate at 75% capacity.

The company’s terminal, with a capacity of five million metric ton per annum (mmtpa), is expected to be commissioned shortly and initially handle 2.5mmtpa.

Previously, the terminal was scheduled to commission in August 2013, though the construction was completed by March 2013.
