The 830-km pipeline begins onshore at the Cusiana and Cupiagua fields and terminates at the port in Covenas on Colombia’s Caribbean coast.
The company plans to transport crude oil through the Ocensa pipeline from 1 September 2011.
The pipeline is presently running at capacity, with the transportation of about 560,000 barrels of oil per day from the Llanos Basin.
Petrominerales said the expansion of its infrastructure base through this acquisition enhances its marketing flexibility by improving its access to international crude oil markets.
