The contract is part of KOC’s strategy to increase its crude production to one million barrels of oil per day (BOPD) over the next five years.
Petrofac plans to deliver the MGT system by the end of 2017. The system will provide feedstock to gathering centers (GCs) through independent networks of intermediate manifolds and pipelines.
Petrofac engineering, construction, operations and maintenance division CEO Marwan Chedid said: "We have a long track record in Kuwait which extends over the last 15 years and the MGT award represents our 12th project in the country.
"Kuwait is, and will continue to be, one of our core markets and is of strategic importance to Petrofac’s ambitions in the Middle East."
The company is currently constructing the GC-29, as part of KOC’s KWD194m contract awarded in 2014. Larsen & Toubro and Dodsal were selected to construct the GC-30 and GC-31, respectively.
Each GC is designed to produce around 100,000 barrels of oil per day as well as associated water and gas.
