Petrofac Emirates, a joint venture (JV) between Petrofac and Mubadala Petroleum has won an onshore engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO) to develop the Bab Habshan-1 project.

The value of the 20-month long contract is $187m.

Under the project, Petrofac Emirates will provide water injection clusters, oil production wells, water injection wells, and associated electrical and instrumentation facilities.

The scope of contract also includes pipelines (headers and flow lines), overhead power transmission lines and performing modifications at remote degassing stations.

Petrofac Onshore Engineering & Construction business managing director Subramanian Sarma said the project is built on the work the company is doing for ADCO on the Asab development.

"The award follows a competitive tender process and underlines the ongoing strength of Petrofac’s competitive position in the Middle East," Sarma added.
