As per the strategic alliance between the two companies, Petrofac will support Bowleven’s local subsidiary Euroil with its engineering capabilities to prepare a field development plan for the first phase development of the Etinde Permit.
Subject to certain government approvals and agreement on the developed field plan, Petrofac will eventually carry out the plan and provide project management, engineering, procurement, and construction services.
Apart from the services, Petrofac will also invest $500m in the project to develop the assets.
Petrofac Integrated Energy Services chief executive Andy Inglis said, "Creating this strategic alliance at an early stage of the project offers Petrofac the opportunity to provide integrated services covering, onshore and offshore facilities development, drilling services and training and operations, alongside the deployment of capital."
Bowleven chief executive Kevin Hart said, "Our alliance with Petrofac will help deliver first production from our Etinde project, and represents a major step towards our goal of converting resources to reserves in Cameroon."
