The two China-based companies have entered into agreement on September 1, 2009. According to the agreement, the companies will jointly develop natural gas based power generation stations in China and abroad.
PetroChina, said: “This strategic cooperation framework agreement…will further promote bilateral business development, raising the proportion of natural gas and promote clean energy use in China.”
According to the agreement, the two state-owned companies would cooperate on natural gas projects, marketing and distribution and aiding Huaneng to augment its capacity of clean energy generators. The two companies together are planning to explore Singapore and other overseas markets.
