Petrobras has highlighted its international operations, with production coming on stream at the Agbami and Akepo fields in Nigeria. These two fields are expected to add substantially to Petrobras’s international production volumes, with production in Nigeria expected to average around 30,000 barrels of oil per day.
Petrobras is also focusing on its East Asia operations, with its takeover of the Nansei Sekiyu refinery in Okinawa, Japan. This acquisition marked Petrobras’s entry into the East Asian market as an operator and will reportedly substantially increase its refining capacity internationally.
The Brazilian energy company has also noted that it is looking to expand its operations in Latin America and the US. Petrobras is reportedly involved in agreement negotiations in Ecuador and is also mulling the acquisition of a 10% stake in the Carabobo field in Venezuela.
