Petrobras is lead operator of the block with a 65% interest, while El Paso Oleo e Gas do Brasil Ltda. holds the rest 35%.

Petrobras has found traces of oil at the inland BT-POT-9 block in the Potiguar basin on October 31, 2009. The 1BRSA762DRN well was drilled by the Rotopercursora Hidrogeo rig to a depth of 3,180 meters.

Petrobras operates the block with a 50% interest, while closely held Partex Brasil Ltda. holds the rest 50% share.

Additionally, Petrobras also reported on October 30, 2009 an oil discovery at the onshore ES-T-383 block in the Espirito Santo Basin. The 4BRSA771ES well was drilled by the Sonda de Perfuracao Pres 08 rig to a total depth of 1,805 meters.

Petrobras holds 100% interest in the block.
