The new well 3-RJS-683A located 7.5km from the Jupiter area’s discovery well 1-BRSA-559A, has been drilled 5,438m so far, also confirms the presence of a continuous reservoir between the two wells.
Petrobras’ new exploration well 3-RJS-683A situated in deep waters of block BM-S-24, at a water depth of 2,161m and 275km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro has detected an oil column of 176m in rocks of excellent permeability and porosity.
The company along with its partner will continue to spud the well until it reaches deeper targets.
Petrobras is the operator with 80% interest in the partnership and the remaining 20% interest is held by Petrogal Brasil.
