“[The hub’s] existence, coupled with our trans-shipment abilities in Naftoport, and our already operational base in Gdansk prepares [Poland] to receive oil and fuel in times of crisis. These facilities allow us to survive in the worst possible scenario – the stopping of supplies from the Przyjazn [Friendship] pipeline,” Robert Soszynski, president of PERN told Dziennik Gazeta Prawna.
The Przyjazn pipeline stretches 4,000 kilometers and transports oil from Russia to Germany through Poland. The Gdansk hub, expected to cost PLN1 billion, will have a total capacity of 400,000 cubic meters of oil.
