The 2015 Diamond Resource Development program planned by the company aims at confirmation of grade estimates and will provide representative diamond parcels for valuation of diamonds drawn from the CH-6, CH-7 and CH-44 kimberlite pipes.
The bulk sampled under the program will be a part of the firm’s Preliminary Economic Assessment for the next year which will be conducted for a potential Phase 1 diamond mine development at Chidliak.
Drilling for the 2015 sampling had been initiated on 21 March 2015.
Till now, nearly 851m have been drilled over four out of the six planned holes for CH-7. The drill plan is expected to offer representative samples of dominant lithologies inside the kimberlite pipe for the channel.
Peregrine wants to create diamond grade, assess grade continuity within CH-7 and extract parcels of diamonds for valuation.
The bulk sample results and their integration with existing microdiamond and geological data will be used by the firm for developing maiden resource statements.
The program arranged transportation for the samples from site to Iqaluit by winter trail, which was later forwarded towards the south via sea-lift for processing and diamond recovery.
