Penn West Energy Trust has appointed Murray Nunns as its president and COO. Mr Nunns will report to CEO William Andrew.

Reporting to Mr Nunns will be David Middleton, who has held a number of senior management positions with Penn West since 1999, and will continue in a more concentrated role with Penn West as executive vice president of operations and business development.

As part of his new role, Mr Middleton will increase Penn West’s strategic focus on the development of enhanced oil recovery programs, including the advancement of its initiatives to increase the recovery of light oil using carbon dioxide miscible flooding, from its pre-eminent inventory of legacy light oil pools.

The company has announced that Todd Takeyasu, currently senior vice president of finance – treasury at Penn West, has been appointed as executive vice president and CFO, also reporting to Mr Nunns.

Penn West also announced that Paul Charron, president, and Richard Tiede, senior vice president of business development, have resigned from their employment with Penn West.
