We are very proud of the many men and women who worked around the clock to complete the construction of PEC. It is on line on budget and weeks ahead of schedule.”
Two-thirds of the electricity is produced by two turbine generators that are fueled by natural gas. Hot exhaust from the combustion process is used to produce high-pressure steam that powers a steam turbine generator. The combined cycle process allows PEC to have a high efficiency factor maximizing its production of electricity from every unit of fuel used, translating into lower fuel usage and lower air emissions for every kilowatt of electricity produced.
