PDVSA’s executive director and the Venezuelan Petroleum Minister Rafael Ramirez has stated that the company is assessing the real requirement in the areas near the country’s borders.
Mr Ramirez also noted that there is a serious problem of fuel smuggling in the region. To tackle this issue, PDVSA has reportedly joined efforts with the country’s army and the national guard to work on the authorized volumes of fuel.
PDVSA said that it will take controlling measures at gas stations and adjust shipment quotas to further address the issue.
