Under the agreement, Siemens has agreed to provide wind turbines for four power projects totaling 870MW.

The total clean energy generated from the four wind projects is enough to power nearly 300,000 local homes in Ontario annually.

The four energy facilities are 270MW South Kent wind project in the Regional Municipality of Chatham-Kent, 150MW Grand Renewable Energy park in Haldimand County, 270MW K2 wind project in the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh, and 180MW Armow wind project in the Township of Kincardine.

Samsung said the company and its partners have committed to bring $7bn in investment to Ontario to create 2,500MW of new renewable energy sources.
