Government-owned corporation SunWater has decided to replace a tender process for water allocations from Paradise dam and Kirar Weir in Queensland, Australia, with 'off the shelf' sales.

After reviewing the sales programme, SunWater decided to make allocations available through direct sales and lease, providing customers with flexibility to secure additional water at any time.

According to the company, medium priority water allocations from both Paradise dam and Kirar Weir are available over a range of time frames. High priority allocations will also be available giving irrigators in the region access to water that would normally be taken up by industry.

SunWater has held three tenders for Kirar Weir allocations and two tenders for Paradise dam water.
