VERTIGRAPH, A DEVELOPER of takeoff and estimating software solutions for the construction industry, has released its new BidScreen XL version 2.0 software, designed for estimators and quantity surveyors seeking an easy use takeoff tool for paperless, electronic plans while working in Microsoft Excel.
BidScreen XL is an application that lets the user view, pan and zoom a variety of electronic drawing files while measuring and colour coding areas, lengths and count items in Microsoft Excel.
According to Vertigraph, after identifying the drawing file, users can click on an Excel cell and electronically identify and measure items in seconds. The quantity measurement is recorded into the Excel cell and the colour-coded image is also saved with the cell.
Enhancements to this latest BidScreen XL release includes improved features with the ability to select the desired scale. It also contains a collection of Excel estimating templates for general contracting, concrete and other sub trades.
