Xact systems monitor single or multiple metals in on-stack and ambient applications such as incinerators, coal-fired power plants, smelters, cement kilns and air quality monitoring units.
Developed in collaboration with Cooper Environmental Services, the Xact technology takes advantage of XRF to identify heavy metals trapped in Pall’s microporous filtration membranes.
The systems generate precise data that will enable power producers and other industries to demonstrate compliance with, or take measures to meet, regulatory needs.
When exposed to X-rays, the membrane surfaces exhibit fluorescent signatures that identify the nature and volume of the heavy metal residue captured within.
For emissions monitoring at the stack, Pall provides the Xact 640 Multi-Metal Continuous Emissions Monitoring system and the Xact 645 Continuous Mercury Monitor, while for ambient atmospheric testing, the company offers the Xact 620 Ambient Metals Monitor.
