Said to be one of the largest in Japan, the power plant is located on Kyushu Island and is designed to generate clean energy to serve up to 30,000 households. It is planned to go onstream by 2018.
The facility is expected to reduce CO2 emission of 68,200 tons annually.
Under the deal, GE will supply 50 units of 1.26MW Brilliance solar inverters, transformers, ring main units and recombiners.
The company will also provide services for 20 years, including an availability guarantee on the inverter equipment.
GE Power Conversion power and industry segment leader John Chatwin said: "GE is dedicated to enabling renewable energy production because we know that these projects are shaping the future energy landscape."
In March, GE Energy Financial Services provided JPY7.5bn for the project.
