The materials are expected to be recycled at PacifiClean’s facility in Kittitas County and converted into retail compost products and soil ammendments.
The facility will also develop alternative energy from the renewable natural gas resulting out of the organic biodegradation.
PacifiClean principal and general manager Larry Condon commented, "This facility will help the state of Washington meet its recycling goals, while expanding access to sustainable products for our state’s agricultural community."
Organic material will be sent to the plant from Central Washington beginning 2014 or 2015 and subsequently the agricultural communities in the region will be supplied with nutrient-rich compost from the material.
This compost will enable agricultural operations to utilize organic products, reduce fertilizer quantity and add organic material for crop growth.
Organic waste processing is expected to decrease carbon emissions by 30% per annum.
