Pacific Rubiales Energy in partnership with Belgian-based diversified shipping group EXMAR will develop a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export project in northern Colombia.
Work will include construction and development of a liquefaction and regasification barge and the development of a pipeline from the company’s La Creciente gas field to the Caribbean coast.
Front end engineering and design for the project has already begun.
The project and pipeline is expected to be fully operational by 2013.
Canadian-based company Pacific Rubiales, is a and producer of natural gas and heavy crude oil, owns 100% of Meta Petroleum Corp, a Colombian oil operator.
