US-based Pacific Green Technologies (PGTK) has secured planning permission to develop £165m ($250m) biomass power plant in the UK, through the acquisition of Pacific Green Energy Parks, an exclusive shareholder of Energy Park Sutton Bridge (EPSB).

The proposed biomass power plant is expected to have a generation capacity of around 49MWe.

According to the company, the plant will employ ENVI-Pure Emission Control System for removal of any hazardous gases and pollutants generated by the plant.

PGTK has the marketing rights to the ENVI-PureTM Emission Control System.

Commenting on the development, EPSB managing director Chris Williams said, "We are very pleased to be the first step within PGTK’s strategy to build a dedicated Biomass and Waste to Energy Power Plant Development Group."
