The project will use SunPower’s solar power block and panels to produce clean electricity to provide for about 36,000 average California homes.
SunPower regions president Howard Wenger said the company has contracted with PG&E to sell the electricity generated at the Henrietta Solar Project.
"SunPower’s world-leading high-efficiency technology and history of reliable performance will maximize the solar energy delivered to PG&E’s customers over the life of the system," Wenger added.
The project is also expected to create around 200 jobs during construction and provide $72.7m into the local economy.
US-based SunPower is designs, manufactures and deliver solar panels and PG&E, a subsidiary of PG&E Corp. is a utility that provides natural gas and electricity to its customers.
