The investment is backed by a HUF625m ($777.7m) grant by European Union (EU), reports Hungarian news agency MTI.
Planned to be commissioned in Q2 of 2015, the biogas plant will have a capacity to generate 4.5GWh of clean electricity.
Ormánsági Zöldenergia managing director Tibor Szabados said that the facility will also create new jobs.
The by-products and waste from local livestock farms will be used by the plant as fuel to produce an annual 2.2 million cubic meters of biogas.
Power generated from the facility will be delivered to MAVIR while the heat energy will be used locally to heat greenhouses.
