Expected to provide a maximum total of 3MW of power to its electric grid, the project is the second of the two-phase mini-hydroelectric power generation project, reports PhilSTAR.com.
ORMECO general manager Romeo Cuasay was quoted by the website as saying that the company, with support from the Multi-Sectoral Electrification and Advisory Council, has placed a power development plan aimed at boosting power supply in the province while offering more efficient and reliable electric service to present and prospective consumers.
"We initiated the development of the first phase of 2.1 MW LCMHPP. The two plants will provide a combined additional total of 5.1 MW of electric power to the whole ORMECO grid."
With an expected generation rate reduction of 20 centavos per kilowatt-hour during operation, the project could supply electricity to some 20,000 households for an average of 50kW-hour for every household.
