Sacramento-Yolo port commission has authorized city/port staff to continue negotiations with OPDE during a regularly scheduled board meeting. The site is used for the storage and drying of dredge material from the port’s deep water channel, and grazing, at present. Both of these uses will continue even after the solar project is developed.
OPDE will own and maintain the equipment of the facility, which will incorporate 1,800 Mecasolar MS-1E TRACKER 10 seasonal one axis azimuth trackers.
In addition to the Mecasolar trackers, the project will include 3,598 SMA America, Inc. 6000 US inverters with 97% efficiency and 104,348 high efficiency 230 watt power PV modules produced by Trina Solar Limited and/or Renewable Energy Corporation.
