A K Hazarika, director (onshore) said: “I am going to Nazira in Upper Assam on Thursday to have a meeting with my team and talk on the development of the new well. For refurbishing our facilities, we have come up with an investment plan. The project aims at re-engineering and revamping surface facilities, which are more than 30-40 years old. Under this we are investing around Rs 2,376 crore. Orders have been placed and ground work will start soon.”
On March 5, 2009, ONGC board approved sanctions for investment proposals for renewal of Lakwa and Lakhmani surface facilities in Assam. The project will maintain production and uninterrupted exploitation for the coming 25 years and keep up high standards of safety and environment. Repairs and renewal of surface facilities in other such assets in Assam will also be dealt in a phased manner.
