The association has released the publications called Decommissioning Insight 2012 at the Offshore Decommissioning Conference in Scotland.
Oil & Gas UK operations director and Offshore Decommissioning Conference co-chairman Paul Dymond said attendees at the conference will benefit from the lectures on decommissioning market in the UK, late life operations and planning, platform well plugging and abandonment.
"While investment in new oil and gas projects on the UK continental shelf is soaring, decommissioning is becoming an increasingly significant activity for operations," Dymond added.
"Oil & Gas UK aims to share the experience gained and lessons learnt so far and to help ensure that future projects are enabled by a supply chain ‘at the ready’."
The Decommissioning Insight 2012 will also highlight the details of business opportunities contractors can have by decommissioning projects.
Ernst & Young sponsored conference for the year will also release the database of the platform and subsea structures that are yet to be decommissioned.
The association is also aiming to help contractors gain from The Decommissioning of Steel Piled Jackets (SPJs) in the North Sea report that was composed based on the experience of 39 decommissioning projects till date.
The report also has a mention on the advances the industry has made in the health and safety, environment and technology as well as the technological challenges in decommissioning SPJs.
The decommissioning plans in the next five years will be worth about £4.5bn, according to a release by Oil & Gas UK.
