The geothermal wells consist of a system of 72, 305-feet deep wells. The drilling will produce five wells per week and continue throughout the remainder of the academic year. After completion, the wells system will save 35% more energy than traditional methods. Residents living near drilling sites – especially Affinity Village, the surrounding apartments and individuals who live on West Lima Avenue – might experience noise and ground shaking during the drilling. The drilling process is anticipated to last until mid-June, 2009.

Corna/Kokosing will continue to serve as the construction manager for the project. Miller Lecky Architects of Columbus, Ohio, and Bostwick Design Parnership of Cleveland are the project architects.
